The committee has been receiving questions regarding election protocol, nomination procedures etc. Therefore, to ease the confusion, I have decided to put together a FAQ form for you guys to have a look. Hopefully it’ll answer most, if not all of your questions.

Furthermore, we have decided to EXTEND THE DEADLINE for Nomination submission and Manifesto submission! Please take note that the deadline is now at 11.59pm on 20th of March 2012.

Why should YOU attend AGM?

Every member is given the power to vote. The direction of Nottingham Malaysian Society lies in every one of our members’ hands. Why complain about the society if you don’t bother to vote who leads the society. If you want to see change in this society, then COME AND VOTE for the candidates that will bring change. You want more free food, COME AND VOTE for the candidates that will give you more free food. If you don’t plan to attend AGM, you shouldn’t be complaining about the society then. So, please come and show you full support! We need every single one of you at our AGM.  

NOTE: This year, under the SU protocol, open nomination during AGM is NOT ALLOWED.  Meaning, if candidate A and B runs for president position but B loses in the election, B cannot be nominated for another (XXX) position, unless RON wins for XXX position. Please read FAQ for more details.

Nottingham Malaysian Society

The Nottingham Malaysian Society will be collaborating with MyHarapan, our Platinum Sponsor to organize a photography and videography competition just for our beloved members.

The theme for this competition is “HOPE”.

There are 2 categories in this competition:
a) Photography
b) Videography

• Not to forget the amazing prizes that comes with this competition.

So, the part we’ve all been waiting for – PRIZES. We promised amazing prizes and therefore, for this competition, we will be giving away AMAZON VOUCHERS!

The Malaysian Society of Warwick University is hosting Warwick Malaysian Night on the 18th of February. The event will starts at 7.00pm in Butterworth Hall, Warwick Arts Centre.

For those who are interested in watching the show, it is your lucky day because NMS will be providing shuttle bus service to Warwick University on that day and you can purchase tickets through us.

Details are as follows:

• GBP12.00 for bus fare
• GBP10-12 for ticket. We are ordering in bulk therefore it depends on how many people are going
• Bus will depart from Nottingham East Drive at 3.00pm on the 18th Feb
• Bus wil leave Warwick at 10.30pm on the same day
• Food will ONLY be provided to those who bought the ticket from NMS

FUN-RAISING DANCAEROBIC CLASS – ZUMBA

This is a member-led project initiated by Hazwani Jamili to raise fund for Sarawak Relief Mission. All girls are invited. Let’s have fun and be healthy while doing charity work =)

THE TARIK SESSION WITH FILM SHOW

Date    : 10^th Feb 2012 (Friday)

Time    : 7-10pm

Venue : Dunkirk Community Centre (DCC)

Fee      : Free for members and £3 for non-members

You will be serving free teh tarik, roti canai, murtabak and….. CHICKEN RENDANG!!

NMS is hosting a Chinese New Year Dinner this coming Sunday 5th Feb from 7.30pm to 10.00pm at Maysum Restaurant.

The registration for this event will be available from 9am 1st February to 5pm 3rd February.
